Autographed Richard Petty's 1981 STP Daytona 500 Win Buick 1:24 HO Die-Cast
There’s more than one reason they call him “The King”.
One of them is that he is the only driver in the history of NASCAR®
to have conquered the DAYTONA 500® – the ultimate test of a racer’s mettle – seven times.
In 1981, Richard Petty had just recovered from a broken neck suffered in a crash the previous season. His team had switched from driving Oldsmobiles on Superspeedways to Buicks. And NASCAR® had just made a rule change that impacted the wheelbases.
With the odds stacked against him, Petty bided his time during the race, and made his move at the end, staying out during a pit stop and then not taking tires when other drivers did. The result? His seventh win in the DAYTONA 500® and the first win for Buick since 1956
Now Lionel Racing is excited to offer the Raced Win die-cast of Petty’s 1981 Daytona 500 Win car. This car has never been offered as a replica die-cast before until now!
This die-cast is incredibly detailed and Lionel Racing’s own artists have studied photos and videos from this race to recreate what Petty’s winning Buick looked like after it crossed the finish line and added those details to this die-cast including dirt, scuffs, rubbed tires, and more.
The 1:24-scale hood-open die-cast is available in two versions. One is autographed on the windshield by Richard Petty and the other
is unsigned.
This special Petty win die-cast will be produced as part of a strictly limited run and it will not be remade. Reserve yours now!
